OUR TEAM

Our Explosive Ordnance Services team enables the Australian Defence Force through storage, distribution, maintenance and disposal of these systems, all across Australia. As a turnkey solution, we offer the opportunity to gain a holistic understanding of our business operations, creating huge opportunities for growth.

Within our logistics services business there are 17+ depots throughout Australia, allowing various development and progression opportunities.

YOUR ROLE

You’ll play a key role in managing the storage, distribution, and maintenance of explosive ordnance, supporting the ADF’s operational readiness across Australia.

This is a hands-on leadership role, working closely with the Site Manager and regional leadership to ensure depot efficiency, compliance, and safety.

Located in sunny Townsville, on Bindal and Wulgurukaba land, your role purpose will be

  • Supervise and coordinate storage, distribution, and maintenance teams to achieve KPIs

  • Coordinate resupply, backload, and movement of EO stock in consultation with management

  • Maintain compliance with explosive limits, security, and regulatory requirements

  • Lead and participate in stocktake reconciliations, discrepancy investigations, and emergency control activities

  • Support staff training, development, and performance management

  • Ensure depot operations adhere to Thales’ safety, environmental, and quality standards

  • Liaise with customers, contractors, and internal stakeholders to maintain high service levels

YOUR EXPERIENCE

  • Certificate IV in Frontline Management (or ability to obtain)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrated team leadership experience in logistics, warehousing, or a related environment

  • Experience within the defence environment would be highly advantageous
