It all starts with Human Intelligence

At Thales, we are proud to work together to create imaginative, intelligent and connected solutions that contribute to building a maritime environment we can all trust. But these solutions and technologies don’t just come from anywhere. They come from the human intelligence powered by our talented engineers and our team is growing!
Thales is a global leader in Underwater Systems (UWS) and the world's top exporter of sonars and related systems for naval forces. In a world where Navies are facing growing and sometimes unexpected threats and challenges, we offer the best solutions in terms of Sonar Suites for submarines to ensure Navies safety and effectiveness at sea.

Discover more about our business

Submarines are one of the most effective and powerful instruments in maritime security policy as they perform a wide number of operations including intelligence and supporting the fight against asymmetric threats. A concealed submarine can force an enemy navy to waste resources searching large areas of ocean and protecting ships against attack.
With more than fifty submarines of various types (SSK, SSN or SSBN) equipped with Thales sonars at sea today, Thales is a world leader that holds about fifty percent of the accessible submarine market and supports ten Navies worldwide.
To deliver solution, Thales leverages its top-performance acoustic sensors and processors as well as its expert Sonar System integration capability.
